The Poppy Jasper International Film Festival runs April 8 through 15, 2026. That's eight days. You don't have to go all eight. Here's what's happening and when, so you can plan which days matter most to you.

April 9: Local Filmmaker Showcase

CURA Contemporary in Morgan Hill. This is South Valley talent. Filmmakers who live here, who walk the same streets you do, showing work at a world-class festival. Start here if you want to feel the local pride part of this event.

April 10: Women's Day

Packed day. Screenings at the Community Playhouse. A farm-to-table brunch at MOHI Farm. A panel with five female filmmakers talking about their process, their challenges, their wins. If you go to one day, this is the one with texture.

Also on April 10: The Red Carpet Opening Gala at the Granada Theater. Filmmakers, press, festival supporters. It's the official launch.

April 12: VR Filmmaking

The VR program runs at CURA Contemporary. You put on a headset and swim with dolphins. You experience a documentary shot in 360-degree format. Then filmmakers explain what immersive cinema is and how it changes storytelling. It's weird in the best way.

April 14: LGBTQ+ Day

Drag performances. Panel discussions. Celebration of queer cinema and queer culture. Amanda Lepore, the legendary performer, is honored. This day is electric.

VIP Pre-Party at Morgan's Cove

The festival honors Y&T, the rock band that got its start in the South Valley.
