Your weekend in the South Valley, sorted. Five things worth leaving the house for between Friday and Sunday.

1. Poppy Jasper Film Festival Screenings (All Weekend)

PJIFF is running all weekend across Morgan Hill, Gilroy, and San Martin. The Opening Gala at the Granada Theater is Friday night, April 10. After that, screenings happen at multiple venues through Sunday. The full schedule at pjiff.org is dense. Pick a time slot, pick a venue, and show up. You'll see something you wouldn't have found on your own.

2. PJIFF Women's Day Brunch and Panel (Friday, April 10)

This one deserves its own entry. MOHI Farm hosts a brunch followed by a panel with five female filmmakers: Tal Anderson, Brigitte Mueller, Alex Caulfield, Ke'alhoi Lucero, and Zoe Elton. It's not a lecture. It's a conversation over food about how films get made, what the industry looks like from the inside, and what these women are working on next.

3. 47th Annual Tierra Bella Bicycle Tour (Sunday, April 12)

Starts at Gilroy High School at 6:15am. Four routes: 29, 49, 73, or 100 miles through San Martin, Morgan Hill, and the back roads that look completely different from a bike seat. 200+ ACTC volunteers staff rest stops. Coffee and nut breads at check-in. Ice cream at the finish. Not a race. Just a really good ride through the valley.

4. Annual Wildflower Run (Sunday, Morgan Hill)

Sunday morning in Morgan Hill. Spring legs, good weather, a good cause. Lace up and go.

5. Live Music at Bubbles and Brew (Friday and Saturday Evenings)

Free live music Friday and Saturday evenings at Bubbles and Brew in Morgan Hill. No cover. Walk in, grab a drink, listen to something good. The kind of low-key weekend evening that doesn't require planning.
